It was three years ago when we met Steve and Di Koch. They helped us find our DeFever boat. They helped us bring her to the Chesapeake; and, they helped us make some very nice improvements to her this week. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun too. Both Steve and Di, who own one of the other eight boats like Tide Hiker, named Aurora, have been living aboard for a number of years and have been generously sharing their knowledge and their talents.

Steve set us up at a very nice private dock in Stuart, FL close to their home. So, bright and early for 5 days, Steve showed up with tools, parts, supplies and he and Norm (mostly Steve) installed a water maker (desalinizer) and performed many other maintenance projects.
We had dinner aboard Tide Hiker once, then aboard Aurora with other new DeFever

owners, Chuck and Pat Berry living aboard "I Got DeFever", in the area for Steve's help.
Yes, I said Chuck Berry--you
can't make this stuff up! A lovely couple from Tennessee and experienced boaters. We're looking forward to spending more time with them. Both Vicki and Di made scrumptous 5-star meals. It's back to the diet tomorrow.
